how it works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Swing Exchange is not a festival.
It is not a competition.
It is not an intensive workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a twinning between communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exchange will take place in two separate moments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April, the Lindy Cats swing community from Graz will come to Trieste. We will host them, show them the beauty of the city and, of course, make them dance!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October it will be the turn of the Swing Freaks to go to Graz and do the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spirit of the exchange<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Here you don\u2019t just book a spot. You open the door to your home. During the exchange, the Lindy Cats will be hosted by the Swing Freaks.
Those who can will offer a couch, a room, a space.
This is the heart of swing: trust, hospitality, community.
You are not required to host. But if you do, you become a living part of the exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, April 17<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Arrival in Trieste, check-in, free dinner<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9:00 PM \u2014 Friday Party Night<\/strong>
<\/strong> We\u2019ll meet in an incredible venue: Sala Beethoven<\/strong> (via Coroneo 15).
A prestigious space that once hosted the \u201cCircolo Artistico di Trieste\u201d, founded between the late 19th century and early 20th century to give local artists a place in the cultural scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On stage: The Jackpots<\/strong>, a well-known Slovenian band in the swing scene, bringing their jump blues and \u201940s\u2013\u201950s swing sound!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring clean dance shoes (the floor will thank you)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, April 18<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

10:30 AM \u2013 12:30 PM \u2014 Urban Game in the city center<\/strong>
<\/strong> (Full Pass only)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meeting point Piazza Venezia.<\/a> We\u2019ll explore the city together through games, small challenges and beautiful views of Trieste.
The perfect way to start getting to know each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free time for lunch
<\/strong> We\u2019ll share a list of community-recommended places<\/a> (with options for everyone: local, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:30 PM \u2014 Miramare (optional)<\/strong>
<\/strong> For those with extra energy: a visit to Miramare Castle, one of Trieste\u2019s most iconic spots \u2014 a true gem by the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6:30 PM \u2013 8:00 PM \u2014 Workshop time (@SKD)

In the afternoon we hit the dance floor with \u0160pela Premel\u010d, Nejc Zupan and Francesc Bujosa<\/strong>, teachers and performers active on the European swing scene.

8:00 PM \u2013 9:00 PM \u2014 Easy Dinner<\/strong>

9:00 PM \u2013 2:00 AM Saturday Party Night (live band \u201cSwing \u00e0 la Carte\u201d)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We move to Opicina, in the Karst plateau. On stage: \u201cSwing \u00e0 la Carte<\/strong>\u201d, bringing the sound of \u201930s\u2013\u201940s swing-jazz to the dance floor.

Sunday, April 19<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

10:30 AM \u2014 Walk along the Napoleonica<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We meet at the Obelisk in Opicina (did you know it was built to commemorate Emperor Franz I of Austria\u2019s visit?) for a scenic walk with a sea view. If the weather doesn\u2019t cooperate \u2192 plan B: Grotta Gigante<\/strong>, the largest tourist cave with a single chamber in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12:30 PM \u2014 Osmiza<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We move into the vineyards of the Karst, to Agriturismo Budin<\/strong> (localit\u00e0 Sales 122).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We close the weekend the Triestine way:
together around a table at a traditional osmica, with local wine, simple food, shared stories and a few last hugs before everyone heads home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
