All courses are held in English in Via alle Cave 1, Trieste.
COSTS
The courses last one year (from September to June). Each course is divided into packages of 8 lessons delivered over a specific two-month period, as defined by the Swing Freaks calendar.
Each course package is priced at €75.
Wanna double the fun? Your second course drops to €55.
Feeling the beat and ready for more? Your third course slides in at just €40!
So if you’re dancing three times a week, your total is: €75 + €55 + €40.
More moves, more joy, less cost. Let’s keep the rhythm rolling!
There is a registration fee of €25, lasting one year, which allows entry to the Freaks headquarters for practices and social dances and cover the insurance.
Lindy hop
The Lindy Hop (or Lindy) is a partner dance that originated in 1920s and 30’s Harlem, New York. The Dance consists of 8 and 6 count steps and includes footwork borrowed from the Charleston and Tap. The dance can be wild and spontaneous or it can be cool and sophisticated. The most important aspects of it are that it is danced with your partner, to the music, and that you enjoy it!🕺💃
ABSolute BEGINNER
You have never danced before and want to explore Lindy Hop!

POP-CORN
You started dancing a few months ago and you are becoming familiar with the basic steps, and want to continue practicing to learn more.
SPRING ROLL
You have been dancing for more than 6 months, you know the basic steps such as Tuck Turn, Lindy Circle, Swing Out; you practice often, with a great desire to learn new steps.
BIGNè
You master most of the standard steps in 6 count, 8 count, and Charleston; you can combine them easily, adding some small variations. You know what musicality is, you play and experiment with it.
You regularly attend social dances, handling fast rhythms.
BABà
You dance with full mastery of all the standard steps; you are completely confident with slow and very fast rhythms; you recognize the structure of music, you improvise, and you have an excellent couple with different partners. At the discretion of the teachers.
TAKE IT SLOW
This course is designed for those who want to explore slower jazz dance styles and venture into Slow Balboa, Blues, and Slow Lindy. The focus will be on partner connection, musicality, and individual expression (especially in blues), to feel comfortable dancing at slower tempos.
Balboa
The Balboa (also known as “Bal”) is a swing dance that originated in Southern California during the 1920s and enjoyed huge popularity during the 1930s and 1940s. It is an 8-count dance done in closed position and danced to fast jazz. Within this dance style we can differentiate between pure Balboa and Bal-Swing.
CURIOUS
You are moving your first steps of Balboa.
And you are super curious to discover more!
SHUFFLERS
You attended at least 1 year of regular classes. You have solid knowledge of the basic steps/figures of Balboa and apply them frequently in your dance repertoire.
solo jazz
Solo Jazz (also called “vernacular jazz” or “authentic jazz”) is a swing-era dance. Essentially you’re learning to dance ‘independently’ without direct lead/follow contact with a partner so … ‘solo’.
BEGINNERS
You are moving your first steps of Solo Jazz.

IMPROVERS
You already know the basics. Now it’s time to refine your style, expand your vocabulary, and groove with confidence!
You attended at least 1 year of regular classes.

Learn a new iconic swing choreo every month, like the Shim Sham, Tranky Doo, Jitterbug Stroll, and many more. The level is open: dancers from beginner to advanced are welcome!
